Privacy Policy
What we collect
- Account info — your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash; we can never see your actual password).
- Field data — field names, locations, crops, growth stages, spray logs, yield records, and notes you enter.
- Crop photos — photos you upload for AI disease diagnosis.
- Payment info — handled entirely by Stripe. Your card number never touches Veldant's servers.
How we use it
- To run the service: risk scores, spray recommendations, weather lookups for your field locations, and yield tracking.
- Crop photos are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate the diagnosis, then are not stored on our servers. Diagnosis results are saved to your field history.
- We send transactional emails (verification, password reset, receipts) and a weekly field summary. You can ask us to stop the summaries any time.
- We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use your field data for anything other than running Veldant for you.
Services we rely on
Your data passes through these providers as needed to run the app: Railway (hosting and database), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (AI photo analysis), Resend (email), and weather providers (OpenWeatherMap, Open-Meteo — they receive field coordinates only, never your name or email).
Your data, your call
Want your account and all field data deleted? Email us and it's done. Cookies: we use browser storage only to keep you logged in — no tracking or ad cookies.
Terms of Service
The service
Veldant provides disease-risk scores, spray-window forecasts, ROI estimates, and AI photo diagnosis for row-crop fields. The free plan includes up to 3 fields; the Pro plan ($7.99/month) unlocks unlimited fields and AI diagnosis. You can cancel any time from your account page — your plan stays active through the end of the billing period.
⚠️ Spray decisions are yours
Veldant is a decision-support tool, not professional agronomic advice. Risk scores, recommendations, and ROI figures are estimates built on weather data and disease models that carry real uncertainty. Always confirm conditions in your own fields, consult your agronomist when in doubt, and always follow the product label — the label is the law. Veldant is not liable for crop loss, input costs, or other damages resulting from spray decisions, weather data errors, or AI diagnosis results.
Your account
- Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for activity on your account.
- Don't abuse the service (scraping, hammering the API, reselling access).
- We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Service availability
We work hard to keep Veldant up, especially during spray season, but the service is provided "as is" without uptime guarantees. Weather data comes from third parties and can be delayed or wrong.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes to these terms or the privacy policy, we'll note it on this page and update the date above.
